Downtown San Diego to Get 2 New Condo Towers

Downtown San Diego will have two new high-rise buildings in the next few years, as Zephyr Partners is finalizing plans on a new project called Broadway Block. The development will consist of one 41-story and one 21-story residential towers, taking up the entire city block between Broadway and C Street and between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Together, the buildings will house 498 luxury condos and a 25,000 square-foot "sky garden". There will also be 19,000 square feet of retail space in the building, plus a 960-slot underground parking garage. The project is currently expected to cost about $250 million. A spokesman for Zephyr Partners said that while a date has not been set for the groundbreaking, plans are finalized and construction should begin in the next few months.
