Southpointe is a large development of 419 relatively affordable townhomes in the La Jolla Village neighborhood, near the intersection of Interstate 5 and Gilman Dr. The development was built in the late 1970s, though many of the units have ubndeergone extensive upgrades in the ensuing decades. Ideally located, the Southpointe community is just a short walk from the world class shopping district, the La Jolla Village Square, and its proximity to I-5 allows residents to be at the airport or in downtown San Diego in about 20 minutes. Southpointe is also just a few minutes from Villa La Jolla Park, the La Jolla Shores and La Jolla Cove beaches and the renowned championship golf course at Torrey Pines. Homes in this popular community are typically priced from the low $400s to the high $600s, with HOA dues at just under $400 a month. Despite Southpointe's large size, units don't come onto the market very often and searches for active listings will occasionally come up empty.
